6. Collector mounting: flat roof or inclined roof
Working Principle
An active open-loop solar system operates by connecting solar vacuum tubes directly to a manifold tank. These tubes contain cold water that is heated through solar irradiation. Due to the difference in specific gravities, the hotter water rises towards the manifold tank, while the colder water descends back into the vacuum tubes. This continuous circulation gradually heats the cold water in the manifold tank. Simultaneously, the hotter water from the manifold is pumped into a hot water storage tank. This process allows for the circulation of colder tank water back to the manifold collector for further solar heating. Through this efficient system, solar energy is harnessed to provide heated water for various purposes.
